Oxford United receive £2,000 from the FA

Before Easter Monday's game against Port Vale, Kate Longworth, head of Oxford United in the Community, was presented with a cheque for £2,000. This is United’s share of the fund generated by the FA’s Community Shield that took place between Leicester City and Manchester United on 7th August 2016.

All 124 clubs that participated in the FA Cup first round and beyond received the same amount to donate to the community initiative of its choice, with the remainder of the fund (comprising 36 per cent of the total match-day income) going to charities that include The Bobby Moore Fund, Breast Cancer Care, The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and the Royal British Legion.
