Popular goalie wins the supporters' accolade
The winner of the 2017/16 Andrew Knapton Player of the Season award, sponsored by Wellers, is goalkeeper Simon Eastwood.Prior to this afternoon's game Eastwood had played every minute of all 61 games so far this season, pulling off some incredible saves that have contributed hugely to United's successful season.
The award, presented to Simon before kick-off this afternoon, is well deserved and he joins a long line of United legends who have previously won the award, named after 'voice of the London Road' Andrew Knapton, who sadly died in 2001 before the move to Grenoble Road.
