United Beat MK Dons in Development Game

26 October 2016

Rob Hall and Ryan Ledson both get a good workout as U's win at Woughton

A strong Oxford United side beat MK Dons 3-2 at the Dons' training ground this afternoon thanks to goals from Kane Hemmings, Ryan Taylor and Alex MacDonald. More importantly, however, was the return from injury for Rob Hall and Ryan Ledson, who both got minutes under their belts and came through unscathed.

Oxford had the perfect start, scoring after just 42 seconds with a well-worked goal. Hall got the ball through to Hemmings who dinked it over the oncoming goalkeeper.

United's second saw Hall get a second assist as he raced down the left wing and pulled the ball back for Taylor whose shot found the top corner of the net for an excellent finish.

Oxford wrapped up the game when a triallist put in Alex MacDonald and he scored with a good strike.

Chris Allen told us: "This was a good little work out, enabling players to get some good minutes on the pitch. It was nice to get the win but the most important thing was for Ryan Ledson and Robbie Hall to get minutes in a match and to come through it well.

"The players all showed good effort and everyone played well. No one did themselves any harm and it was nice to see Hall and Ledson do well."

United: Buchel, Long, Martin, Raglan, Welch-Hayes, MacDonald, Ledson (Triallist 60), Ruffels, Hall (Triallist 45), Taylor, Hemmings
