Join the U's before the Wycombe game

2 May 2016

The perfect way to prepare for Saturday's big game

Oxford United fans are invited to join us for a pre-match drink and barbecue ahead of our final home league match against Wycombe Wanderers next Saturday.  With the U's looking to end the season by sealing promotion it promises to be an amazing day and a sell-out crowd will be there to cheer on Michael Appleton and his team.

Fans coming to the game are invited to join us at Littlemore Rugby Club, beside the Oxford Academy before the game where Chairman Darryl Eales and the Board will be hosting a fans get together.

There will be plenty to eat and drink with giant barbecues providing a range of delicious food, a fully stocked bar plus a range of activities for all the family including:

*    Walking football sessions
*    Mascots Olly, Olivia and George
*    A  Soccercise/Football Fitness session
*    Olivia's snug: a great area full of activities for children
*    Skills sessions with our Community coaches

There will also be one last chance to get a picture taken with the Milk Cup as we end our 30th Anniversary season.

Additionally a mobile club shop will be on site to help supporters buy end of season merchandise, including the new Oxford United/Headington United half and half scarf.

Oxford United staff will be there for a chat and all proceeds from food and drink will go directly to the club. The day is a pilot for what may become a regular occurrence so come and have a beer, a bite to eat, and prepare for the big match with us.

The event is FREE and starts at noon. There is car parking and the Academy is a ten minute stroll to the ground.

Chairman Darryl Eales said:

"It all started with a brilliant fans barbecue out in Austria in pre-season so hopefully we can end the season with another great event ahead of Saturday's game.

"It's a chance for the fans to come and join us and for everyone to get together and get in the mood for what is a massive game for the club. We hope to see as many people there as possible."

Managing Director Greig Box Turnbull added: "This is a significant opportunity for the club, if the day is a success there is a decent chance it could be rolled out next season.

"This would provide us with a venue just a ten minute walk from the stadium that enables us to generate revenue for the club from matchday food and drink. Our ambition is to recreate the spirit and matchday atmosphere that many supporters enjoyed at the Priory."

In order to help with orders for food and drink it would be very helpful to have a rough idea of numbers attending the event. If you are planning on being there please let us know HERE
