633 new season ticket holders already for next season
Oxford United supporters are rushing to back the U’s for the new EFL League 1 season with more than 1,650 tickets sold in the first week - double the number sold in the same time frame last year.
Amazingly 633 have been sold to new season ticket holders, or fans returning to the U’s and looking forward to a new era after the club’s first Football League promotion since 1996.
Managing Director, Greig Box Turnbull, said:
“It has been an excellent first week and sales have been extremely encouraging. The first couple of days were hectic and since then we have had a constant flow of people booking for the new season.
“It has been markedly noticeable how many new season tickets holders there are going to be for the forthcoming season; which is absolutely fantastic. At the end of the first week we had sold 633 season tickets to supporters who did not have one last season. We offer supporters the chance to view available seats if they come to the stadium and the staff have been doing a great job showing people around inside the ground.
“The atmosphere around the club is really buoyant and every supporter who has visited the stadium to choose their seat has said they can’t wait for the new season to start.
“Demand is strong and I’d advise anyone who is keen to purchase a season ticket to come and visit the stadium and select a seat, or book online, as already some supporters have missed out on the seat they wanted due to our swift sales.
“We have researched past sales and based on records to hand we believe the club has only exceeded 4,000 season tickets in three seasons since moving to the new stadium in 2001. Given the number of new season ticket holders already we feel this is a good target to aim to beat. The players and management team often comment on how much of a difference the Yellow Army makes on a match-day and judging by the initial uptake of season tickets this season is gearing up to be another great year.”
A Season Ticket guarantees your place for all 23 home league games as well as giving you priority for home cup and all ticket away games, subject to a time criterion.
Existing season ticket holders have until 5.30pm on July 1st to renew their seat.
