Cundy and Grant Loans Extended

19 January 2016

Defensive duo to stay out on loan

Two of Oxford United’s young players are to gain more experience with extended loans away from the Kassam Stadium.

Left back Freddie Grant has extended his loan at Farnborough for a further month. The 19-year-old defender has been on loan to the Isthmian League Premier Division side since October and is currently playing alongside youth team striker George Jeacock who is with Farnborough on a work experience deal.

Meanwhile centre-half Robbie Cundy is to stay with Gloucester City until the end of the season. The 18-year-old defender has done well at the Tigers since joining on loan late last year, and has been playing regularly in the Vanarama National League North.

Head Coach Michael Appleton said:

“We are getting good reports on both of them and they are getting to play regular competitive football.  They are still training with us and around the club but the loans are working very well and we are more than happy to extend them for longer periods.”
