Oxford United have signed Wolves winger Zeli Ismail on an initial one-month loan.

The 22-year-old can play out wide or as an attacking midfielder. He has been at Molineux since he was ten. He played for England at under 16 and 17 level despite being born in Albania, and has had loan spells at MK Dons, Notts County and Burton Albion, scoring against the U’s at the Kassam Stadium in 2014.

Head Coach Michael Appleton said:

“He is an exciting young player. I’ve seen him play a number of times over the years and know what a clever player he can be, and he always causes problems for the opposition.

“With Chris Maguire also back with us we feel we have strengthened a couple of important areas today and brought in quality players at a key stage of the season.”
