United Snap Up Stoke Striker
Oxford United have completed the signing of Stoke City striker George Waring on a one month emergency loan.
George is a 21-year old forward who played youth football for Everton before joining Stoke, The six foot five striker scored six times in 17 starts on loan at Barnsley last season and joins the U’s in time to be part of the squad for tonight’s game at Exeter City.
Head Coach Michael Appleton said:
“George has been on a lot of people’s radar for a while. He is a good player and has a physical presence up front but he also scores goals, as he showed at Barnsley.
"We have one or two knocks at the moment and George provides us with a different sort of threat and a bit more competition for places over the next month or so.”
George will be number seven in the United squad
