Twenty year anniversary of a great season
Friday night saw a fantastic reunion as the Boys of 96 got back together again.
Denis Smith’s promotion winning side at the Manor were reunited for an evening of stories, jokes and memories of the Manor Ground and their promotion winning run of 20 years ago.
Joining the management team of Smith and Malcolm Crosby were Phil Whitehead, Les Robinson, Matt Elliott, Phil Gilchrist, Mike Ford, Joey Beauchamp, Chrissy Allen, Stuart Massey, Mark Druce and Paul Moody , with around 150 fans including plenty of the backroom team from the Manor there to join them for a curry and a couple of beers.
“There was a fantastic bond between them” Denis Smith told us “and it is still evident 20 years on. It was great to see everyone and it brought back so many great memories of what was a tremendous time for everyone at Oxford United.”
