Rush returns for Flag Day against Peterborough
We are delighted to announce that a Manor Legend will be our Guest of Honour tomorrow against Peterborough.
David Rush scored 24 goals in 79 appearances for the U’s, but it is his goal against tomorrow’s opponents Peterborough that make him an iconic. Needing a win to seal promotion, Rush’s goal at the London Road end sealed a 4-0 win and he celebrated by ripping his shirt off, attaching it to the corner flag and waving it proudly to the celebrating fans.
Last season’s promotion game against Wycombe saw Chris Maguire copy the flag waving goal celebration and so Saturday’s game is Flag Day.
