U's offer scholarships to three
Oxford United are very proud of their Youth Development system and this season has seen 12 players in the first team squad who have been part of the successful scholarship programme at the club.The club has this week offered local lads Aaron Heap, Dan Carr and Nathan Baker the same scholarship opportunity.
Aaron is a midfielder who has been with the club since the under 9s. Dan is a full back, while Nathan is also a midfielder.
Youth Development Manager Richard Blackmore said:
“All three players have got real talent and deserve their opportunity.
“They can see that the club puts its faith in good young players and I’m sure they will want to make the most of their chance. There is still a long way to go and a lot of hard work, but we will work with them, help them develop, and provide them with the best opportunity to make the next step up, which is to become a professional footballer.”
