In our series of the Big Question, we've previously discussed United's best-ever goalkeeper, defender, midfielder and forward. We've even asked who was the best header and the best crosser. What we want to know now, though, is who was the best of the best? Who was the best-ever player to play for the U's?Goalkeepers and defenders are largely unsung, but their contribution is as vital as the more attack-minded players; the ability to keep clean sheets makes the goals scored count for that much more. The midfielders are the engine room and the creativity of the team; picking out the pass to unlock the opposition defences or switching from defence to attack is key to a successful side. And the strikers score the goals.
