SCM to sponsor the Matchday Restaurant

24 September 2015

Matchday Experience grows and grows

One of the major successes off field at Oxford United has been the new Matchday Restaurant.

We are delighted to announce that SCM Group have joined the club’s commercial partners and will be sponsoring the Restaurant on matchdays for the rest of the season. SCM is an Oxfordshire based building firm offering a professional, reliable and efficient service to those who require assistance throughout the building and construction process. They support project managers, facilities managers and occupants on a variety of residential and commercial projects. SCM have the vision and foresight of a good midfielder, the solid dependability of a centre-back and the speed and responsiveness of a great striker.

Lee Simpson, the MD of SCM said -

“This sponsorship has provided a great opportunity for us to increase the profile of our fast growing business. It is also giving us a platform to use the hospitality to entertain key clients, suppliers and staff. From what we have experienced in the SCM Restaurant so far, we believe the club are delivering a hospitality experience to suit our varying business needs. We look forward to our first season in partnership with Oxford United.”

Following United’s four opening home games, the restaurant’s feedback has been very good. Guests in the restaurant are commenting on the excellent quality of the three-course meal and the general entertainment provided by hosts Peter Rhoades-Brown and Liam Wakeford. Last Saturday around 200 guests were able to meet United legends Damian Batt and Paul Moody, after they discussed the Portsmouth game with Peter Rhoades-Brown, before watching Liam Sercome collect his man of the Match champagne.

The new SCM Restaurant will feature the company’s logo on the new interview backdrop and our picture shows the directors of SCM with Danny Hylton, who has already visited to receive the Man of the Match champagne on two occasions this season, joined by George Baldock.

The suite is fast becoming the central hub for the hospitality areas on the first floor at the Kassam Stadium, with guests from Executive Boxes, the Textures Flooring Legends Club, Headington Bar and Boardroom invited to come and watch the post-match Man of the Match presentation.

Oxford United’s Chief Executive Mark Ashton said -

“We are delighted to welcome SCM on board and look forward to working with them in the new restaurant. We are receiving excellent feedback on all of the Matchday Experience packages that are in place this season and the restaurant is a central part of that. We believe that we are building for the future and we thank SCM in helping us do that.”
