Michael Appleton looks ahead to Saturday
Oxford United head for Leyton Orient on Saturday looking to continue their excellent recent run. Four wins in a row, three of them in the League, have lifted the U’s up to third place in Sky Bet League 2 and another sold out away end will be roaring them on this Saturday afternoon.
“I think that says everything about the football club at the minute” Head Coach Michael Appleton told Yellow Player HD this morning. “There’s a positive vibe around the place and there’s a momentum building. It’s going to be a tough game against a side that has started the season just as well as we have but one we’re looking forward to.
“The good thing about playing the teams around you is that they obviously can’t take three points as well. Last Saturday we got all three points and then found out that a lot of the teams around us had done the same as well. Get a win against the clubs around you and you do have an opportunity to pull away from them”
“Orient have got a lot of players who have played at a higher level and are going to be very difficult to beat, especially with them being at home as well. We just have to be well organised, keep our shape, make sure our distances are right and I think with the pace that we’ve got in the team, we could cause a lot of teams problems.“
