Can Oxford United steal the heart of a Man City fan?
This month has seen the launch of a brand new book on life behind the scenes at Oxford United.
‘A Football Fling’ sees author Steve Mingle’s life-long love for Manchester City thrown into question when Oxford United come into his life. Steve is introduced to the club when Isinglass win shirt sponsorship of the U’s in a prize draw, and over the next two seasons he is allowed behind the scenes at the U’s, following them home and away.
Can United tear him away from City?
“Since we won the draw, I've been spending more time at football matches than can possibly be healthy” Steve told us. “But we've had so much fun and so many great experiences that we just can't give it up. So I thought our story would be really interesting, not only for Yellows, but also for anyone who thinks that football begins and ends with the Premier League.
“In many ways the Oxford games have been more enjoyable, and what I most hope comes through in the book is the genuine passion that people here have for the club.”
