Director steps down at the U's
Oxford United Director Mike O’Leary is to step down from his board role with the club because of the volume of other work commitments that he currently has. He will continue to be available to assist and will also attend as many games as he can. The board would like to thank Mike for his efforts and wish him the very best for the future.
Chief Executive Mark Ashton said:
“Mike has been an invaluable help to the club and done a fantastic job and it is typical of his integrity that he has asked to step down. Someone with his business experience is always going to be in demand and he gives any project his full attention. At the moment his workload elsewhere precludes that here so we have reluctantly agreed that he step down from the board.
“He will still be around for us to consult and will attend as many games as he can, and he will remain a friend to everyone at the club.”
Mike said
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. There are some fantastic people behind the scenes and it has been a wonderful experience. The club is definitely moving forward and I will enjoy seeing that continue. I will miss being part of the board but am very happy to help the club in any way I can in the future.”
The Oxford United Board now comprises Darryl Eales (Chairman), Mark Ashton (Chief Executive Officer), and Ian Lenagan, Frank Waterhouse, David Jones and Peter Lee (Directors).
