Development side lose friendly
Will Hoskins and Jeremy Balmy both played 90 minutes this afternoon as the United Development side lost 2-0 at Reading in a friendly.Hoskins played the whole game up front as he regains match sharpness after a groin problem while Balmy made his first appearance for the U’s since sitting out recent weeks with a niggling hamstring problem. Andy Whing was also eased back into action after a slight groin problem while the U’s took the opportunity to look at four trialists alongside a number of their own promising youngsters.
Micky Lewis told us:
“We were always in the game - Reading’s second goal was in the last minute.
“The senior lads got game time which was important and I thought the young lads’ attitudes were spot on. Reading were probably the better side in the first half but we were good in the second and played some decent football and were probably a little unlucky not to get something out of the game.”
