New face behind the scenes
There’s a new face at the training ground this week as the players go through their paces in pre-season.
Steve Francis has joined the U’s as Kit Man after six years in a similar role at Aldershot. John Elliott, known throughout the club as Spike, had been combining the kit man role with his Sports Therapy duties but will now be able to concentrate solely on the sports therapy role while leaving the kit to Steve.
“Spike has helped me settle in” Steve said. “Everyone here has been very welcoming and I’ve really enjoyed it.
“The players have been working very hard and there has been plenty to do getting their training kit ready each day, and now we are all set for the first game of pre-season at Didcot on Saturday and then on to Austria the following week.”
