New Home Shirt Revealed

24 July 2015

New home kit brings the 1986 Classic right up to date

Oxford United are proud to release the first images of the brand new home shirt for 2015/16.

The coming season marks the 30th anniversary of the club’s greatest ever triumph, the Milk Cup Final win at Wembley in 1986, and the new home kit is inspired by our proud history.

The kit is a contemporary new interpretation of the classic 1986 style and includes a two-tone sublimated yellow kit with a dark navy trim. The shirt is totally bespoke and unique and has the retro V-neck design and navy trim cuff.

New Principal Partner Liontrust have their logo proudly displayed on the chest while Polythene UK return to the kit on the back of the shirts.

The shorts and socks follow the retro theme with a classic navy and yellow trim and feature the iconic Ox Head logo which is also on the shirt.

Prices have been reduced to just £39.99 for adults and £34.99 for junior sizes and the kit will be worn for the first time tomorrow when the U’s visit Eastleigh for a pre-season friendly
Kevin Smith, Director of Business Operations said:

“Since we took the decision to control our retail and kit operation designing a classic and iconic kit to mark the 30 year anniversary of the Milk Cup has been a major priority.  Around Christmas last year we asked fans to tell us about their favourite historic kits and the ’86 shirt was the stand-out winner.

“We have been working with our suppliers and manufacturers to create a kit that is modern and stylish whilst honouring the fantastic achievement of the team of 1986.  We’ve used high quality fabrics, vibrant colours and a classic retro design.  The players saw the kit for the first time this week and absolutely loved it and we hope that our fans will feel the same way.

“We’re all looking forward to seeing the team run out in the kit at Eastleigh tomorrow ahead of the launch of the new away kit next week.”

The kit will go on sale next week and pre-orders will be available via a brand new retail website: OUFCShop.co.uk.

All #Ox4Life members, who received a free shirt as part of their season ticket package, will receive their shirt in early August and general sale is planned for the first home game of the season when the U’s welcome Crawley Town to the Kassam Stadium on Saturday August 8th.

The fantastic new away kit will be launched next week and worn for the first time when United take on Coventry City in their final pre-season game of the summer at Nuneaton on Saturday August 1st.
