Young midfielder gets his chance with the U'sOxford United have completed the signing of French midfielder Jeremy Balmy.
The 20-year-old is a skilful player who began his career at Le Havre where he caught the eye of several English club and had trials at Norwich City, Brighton and Birmingham before joining Notts County in 2013. He made two senior appearances for Notts County before being released, but United Head Coach Michael Appleton had seen Jeremy play earlier in his career and invited him to train with the U’s. After two weeks of training he today signed an initial contract until the end of the season.
“He has a lot of potential” Michael said. “I saw him play for Birmingham against Coventry in a development game and he was outstanding and when we heard he was available we got him in so we could take a look at him over a few days.
“He has a good attitude, has fitted in straight away and deserves the chance to impress us over a longer period.”
“I have enjoyed my time here already. The players have made me feel very welcome and training has gone well. I am really looking forward to the next few months and want to work hard to make the most of the opportunity.”
