TEAM NEWS
Oxford United look to stretch an unbeaten run that goes back to March as they travel to Sheffield Wednesday in the Capital One Cup this evening. Michael Appleton's side were last defeated at Shrewsbury Town almost six months ago but know they face a huge test against the Championship side.

The U's excelled at Brentford in the last round, winning 4-0 against the highest placed team in the seedings in that round, and have had a remarkably settled side for most of the season so far. However Head Coach Appleton is well aware of the rigours of playing so many games so early in the season and has hinted that there could be changes to the line-up tonight. Ryan Taylor, a chiildhood Wednesday fan, could earn a recall after doing well as a second half sub at Mansfield on Saturday while new signing John Lundstram could be handed a full debut in midfield.

THE OPPOSITION
Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal knows the danger that the U's pose to his team and will send his team out more than aware of the pitfalls of cup games.

“There are always surprises in the cups but surprises happen when you are sleeping,” he said. “If you are sleeping, the big surprises come. We must stay alert, with the full energy, and do our best. This will be the spirit for this game and all the games we have this season.

“We respect our opponent, it won’t be an easy match and we want to do our best to try to continue in this competition.”
