Monday will see a brand new Supporters Bar trialled at the Kassam Stadium as Oxford United welcome York City
It is ‘Supporters Day’ for the U’s and the new bar in front of the South Stand will have ales, cider and lager to whet the appetite ahead of United’s big game against the Minstermen.
We would like to thank County Bicester and MG UK who are supporting the great new fan zone.
The MG brand has its roots in Oxfordshire founded barely 3 miles from the Kassam Stadium in Cowley 91 years ago and with the factory in Abingdon open until 1980.
Although Birmingham has been the home of MG for the last three decades, MG retain close links to Oxfordshire through both the MG Car Club - located on Cemetery Road Abingdon next to the site of the old factory and, most recently, with Triple8 Race Engineering, who are based in Banbury and prepare the MG6 model to compete in the British Touring Car Championship.
MG are offering a discount scheme for all Oxford United Season ticket holders, Club Members, staff and associates along with anyone who holds a pension from either the Cowley or Abingdon car factories. Simply bring along proof of eligibility (season ticket book, club wage slip, pension details etc.) to County Garage to save up to £500 on MG3 3 Form Sport or MG3 3Style models.
As you will see from their Matchday display - although they stock a variety of colours - they are rather partial to Yellow and Blue!
