Oxford Women face 'massive game' against London Bees

4 September 2014

Oxford United Ladies travel to London Bees in a must win game at The Hive

The Oxford United Women are aiming to get themselves off the bottom of the FA WSL 2 table this evening as they travel to London Bees for a midweek game at The Hive. The U's dropped to the foot of the table on Sunday following the 6-0 defeat to Yeovil, being leapfrogged by the Bees after their 1-0 victory over Millwall Lionesses.

Manager Les Taylor said this is one of the most important games of the season for the side.

“It's a massive game if we want to stay within the pack,” he said. “Durham and London Bees both won at the weekend so there's a little gap appearing between us and the next teams, so it's a massive game for us now."

But although United will be looking to win the game, Taylor knows that United must improve defensively over recent showings.

He added: “We want to try to attack and score but we've also got to be mindful of the fact that we've conceded 11 goals in two games.”

Kick-off is at 7:30pm on Thursday, and @oulfc will have live match updates via Twitter with a full match report and reaction right here soon after.
