Early team news as Oxford United travel to Exeter City
United welcome Michael Collins back into the squad as they head for Exeter City on Saturday in Sky Bet League 2.The influential midfielder missed Saturday’s draw at Southend to be with his daughter in hospital but we are pleased to report that she is doing well and Michael is back in full training, along with Junior Brown and Joe Riley who both went off during the 1-1 draw at Roots Hall.
“All three will train today and hopefully be fine for Saturday” Head Coach Michael Appleton told Yellow Player. “We will obviously be missing Will Hoskins for a while but Tyrone Barnett adds something different for us up front and will be involved in Saturday’s game.”
Barnett is likely to join top scorer Danny Hylton in attack but Appleton is hoping that goals start coming from all of his players soon.
“Danny has done great” he said. “I’m pleased for him because there was a certain amount of pressure on the strikers after Constable, Kitson and Smalley left in the summer but it’s not just the forwards,. We need goals from everyone and are looking for the midfield and defence to chip in with their fair share as well.”
