Striker steps things up after injury
There was further good news from the physio department this week with Will Hoskins making excellent progress after his recent injury. The striker was stretchered off with a groin injury after twisting to get a shot at goal at Southend three weeks ago and was initially ruled out until January.
However the former Brighton frontman was first boosted with the news that he did not require surgery and then this week has been stepping up his recovery in the gym and on the training pitches, including some running and ball work.
Physio Andrew Proctor told us:
“We have started some controlled ball work and outside running. We have been working extremely hard in the gym of late, and Will’s fitness is not an issue as we have been able to run at high speeds on the treadmill from an early stage.
“We have been increasing his resistance work as well, with Alasdair Lane producing some pretty hard workouts for Will to complete. All this hard work makes the recovery process easier, as players can return to training in a much more conditioned state and their return to play becomes a much smoother process. “
