Oxford United and County Council join up
Oxford United are supporting Oxfordshire County Council’s Game of Chance Campaign by staging a free 5-a-side football tournament aimed at local 16-24 year olds.The tournament will see 24 teams (18 male and 6 female) participating in games of eight minutes. It’s on a first come, first served basis and in addition to the opportunity to win the kudos of being crowned 5-a-side champions, participants will also get the chance to win some great prizes through the Chance Raffle and Speed vs. Power competitions. The downside is that, like all games of chance, there’s the possibility of an unexpected booby prize!
After the games an awards ceremony will be held at the O2 Academy on Cowley Road.
It is hoped the positive atmosphere generated at the tournament will encourage young people to engage with the messages of the campaign; that taking ‘legal highs’ is a game of chance with no guaranteed outcome. A number of substances once referred to as ‘legal highs’ have now been banned under the Misuse of Drugs Act, for example mephedrone (Mcat, Miaow Miaow) and methoxetamine (MKET, Mexy).

To enter you must be aged 16-24 and currently live in #Oxfordshire. Kick off is 6pm - 10pm Wednesday 29th October at St Gregorys on Cricket Rd, with after tournament entertainment on offer at the O2 Academy.
