Send us your questions for John Aldridge for the Tranmere matchday magazine

John Aldridge has agreed to answer your questions, so send them to mbrodetsky@oufc.co.uk by noon on Monday and we'll put the best ones to him.

John Aldridge is a legend to both Oxford United and Tranmere Rovers. He scored 90 goals for United in 141 appearances after joining from Newport County for just £70,000 in 1984. In his first full season he broke the club's record for league goals in a season, scoring 30 times (plus another four in the FA and League Cups). Aldo was also the club's leading scorer in the following two seasons before his move to Liverpool in January 1987.

After more than two years with Liverpool and two years with Spanish side Real Sociedad, he joined Tranmere for £250,000 in 1991. There he also broke the club's goalscoring record, scoring his 40th goal of the 1991/92 season against United in the final game of the season. He went on to become Tranmere's manager and led them to the League Cup final in 2000 and consecutive FA Cup quarter-finals in 2000 and 2001.

In an amazing playing career, Aldridge played 889 games and scored a phenomenal 476 goals, which remains a post-war English record.

We are happy that John has agreed to answer questions for the matchday magazine for when we play Tranmere Rovers on Saturday 18th October, so please send your questions to mbrodetsky@oufc.co.uk by noon on Monday and we'll put the best ones to John.
