Oxford United players support Grow4Joe

Deane Smalley, Michael Raynes and Scott Davies visit Electric to end Grow4joe effort

The whole football world has united behind Joe Thompson the young Tranmere player who is fighting Nodular Sclerosing Hodgkins Lymphoma Cancer.

Joe’s fight has been backed by the grow4joe campaign and three Oxford United footballers have gladly supported Joe by growing their hair from the turn of the year until the end of the season.

Deane Smalley, Scott Davies and Michael Raynes agreed not to have haircut until May and last night visited Electric Hairdressing in Oxford to finally return to normality. Electric did a fantastic job as Scott told us:

“It has been harder than we thought but it is for a brilliant cause. Between us we have raised over £700 for Grow4Joe and overall more than £8,000 has been raised for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, which is brilliant.

“We’d like to thank Louise and everyone at Electric for their kind help, and every fan who has pledged money as well.”

It’s not too late – help get that total to over £10,000 by making a donation, no matter how large or small, here: http://www.justgiving.com/grow4joe
