Farnborough Preview

11 July 2014

We look forward to the first game of pre-season 2014

United head for Farnborough for their first pre-season game tomorrow (Saturday, 2pm kick off)

New boss Michael Appleton has had just under a week to work with his squad and will use the game to run the rule over as many players as possible as they prepare for the opening league fixture at home to Burton Albion.

The only two players missing will be Ryan Clarke and Andy Whing as they recover from summer operations while there may be one or two trialists named in the squad - three young keepers have been training with the U's in pre-season and one may get a chance as back up to Max Crocombe.

Jon Meades is set for his return after missing he whole of last season through injury while Johnny Mullins plays his first game since fracturing a metatarsal at Chesterfield in March. Danny Hylton stands by for his debut while new pros Josh Ashby, Aidan Hawtin, Sam Humphreys and James Roberts are all in the squad.

United will wear their brand new away kit for the first time : pre-orders now being taken HERE
