Oxford United under 18s to take on Cardiff City tonight
United’s youngsters will be looking to shine against Premier League opposition again tonight when they take on Cardiff City in the FA Youth Cup Fourth Round.
Chris Allen’s exciting under 18 side enjoyed a memorable win at Swansea City in the last round, having beaten Didcot and Southend United in the earlier rounds, but face their toughest test yet as they tackle Cardiff at Diidcot Town’s Loop Meadow Stadium (7pm)
Chris told us:
“The Swansea game was an excellent performance from the lads. We are very much the underdogs again tonight but that suits us and we will give it our all. Whoever gets through plays Chelsea at home in the next round so there is a big prize on offer and the boys are buzzing for tonight’s game.
“There should be a decent crowd and if people want to come along and support the lads then that would be great.”
That sentiment is echoed by The Yellow Army who are hoping to see as many fans as possible at Didcot tonight. Joe Nicholls said:
"Fans are rightly proud of the youth team, and a lot of fans want to come along and show support. The Yellow Army recognise achievement, and we will be there tonight in numbers and good voice, as we are proud of this young and successful Oxford United side. Let’s back the boys and hope the lads can set up a 5th round clash at home to Chelsea"
Admission is just £5 adults and £3 for over 65s and under 16s.
