Reading goalkeeper joins the U's on loan
Oxford United have signed Reading goalkeeper Jonathan Henly on a month’s youth loan.
The 19-year-old keeper has been with The Royals since he was ten years old and represented Scotland at under-19 level. Henly, who is six foot four and comes from Woking, has twice been on the bench for Reading - at Everton and at home to Aston Villa- and has just returned to the club after a ten game loan at Aldershot.
United completed the paperwork in time for Henly to be part of the squad to face Portsmouth tomorrow after Max Crocombe and Wayne Brown were both ruled out.
Brown is still recovering from a broken ankle and is two to three weeks away from playing while Crocombe, the regular understudy to Ryan Clarke this season, will miss the next few weeks. The New Zealand under 20 international is working with a specialist who has advised him to rest to overcome a short-term shoulder injury.
Henly will join fellow loan signing Nicky Wroe in the squad to face Portsmouth at the Kassam Stadium tomorrow. Call 01865 337533 or visit www.oufctickets.co.uk to book your place.
