Waterlogged pitch at Newport
Today's game at Newport County has been postponed after an early pitch inspection.
Match referee Rob Lewis arrived at Rodney Parade at 10.00am to take a look at the playing surface. There has been further rain overnight in Newport and with the forecast for more rain throughout the day the decision was made to call the game off.
Newport brought in Glamorgan cricket club groundsman Keith Exton to vertidrain the pitch yesterday along with a 'Superblotter' machine to take up much of the surface water. Unfortunately the weather has not relented and so the game will have to be rescheduled.
Further details on the new date and ticket arrangements will appear here as soon as we have them.
