Fixtures announced for Oxford United Women's first season in WSL 2
Oxford United Women will host the first-ever match of the FA Women's Super League 2 when they welcome London Bees to Northcourt Road on Monday, April 14th.
Not only will the game mark the first time professional women's football has been played in Oxfordshire, it will also act as the curtain-raiser for the 2014 WSL season. Kick-off is at 7.45pm and tickets will be available priced £5 for adults and £2 for under 16s and over 65s.
United follow that up with a trip to the Keepmoat Stadium to face Doncaster Rovers Belles on Saturday, April 19th (6.30pm) before returning home to host Yeovil Town the following Sunday (2pm).
The U's will begin their debut FA WSL Continental Cup campaign with a trip to WSL1 side Bristol Academy on Thursday, May 1st (7pm). United will also face trips to Birmingham City and Aston Villa as well as home ties against Notts County and Yeovil Town in the group stage of the Continental Cup.
Other fixtures of note include a first-ever local derby against Reading on Sunday, May 25th and an August Bank Holiday trip to the Hive for the return match with the Bees. United will finish the season at home to Aston Villa on Sunday, October 26th.
