Mansfield Preview

14 February 2014

We look ahead to Saturday's Sky Bet League 2 game between Oxford United and Mansfield Town

United welcome Mansfield Town to the Kassam Stadium tomorrow (3pm) in Sky Bet League 2. Here we present a full guide to the game.

Pitch Update
Although there has been heavy rain in the Oxford area the pitch has drained well and is playable. The forecast is for heavy rain today and the club will continue to monitor the situation. @OUFClive on Twitter will keep you up to date.

Noisy Oxford
U's fans are being encouraged to make as much noise as possible in every section of the stadium throughout the match to cheer on United and create a special atmosphere.

"The Yellow Army On Tour day at Mansfield away was superb - so it would be fantastic to give the team the same backing for the home game," said Greig Box Turnbull, of the Yellow Army.

Joe Nicholls added: "The more fans that can attend on Saturday and shout, clap, sing and cheer them on the better. Let's all get behind this and use #NoisyOxford on Twitter and together we can all make a difference and give the team a lift. This is about every fan in every part of the stadium, from the East Stand and North Stand and throughout the South Stand - let's make some noise."

Team News
United welcome back wingers Alfie Potter and Ryan Williams as they take on The Stags. Both have trained this week and will hope to be involved while United also hope to have Sean Rigg and Michael Raynes available again. With skipper Jake Wright only a couple of weeks away, Jon Meades not far behind and Andy Whing expected back in a month's time United are getting key men back for a final push and will be looking to make it three home wins in a row as they take on Mansfield.

See Mickey Lewis previewing the game in Yellow Player right now where we also have a great Preview Show featuring Johnny Mullins, Alfie Potter and a brilliant Powerbag Challenge featuring fitness coach Alasdair Lane taking on the Army....

The Opposition
Mansfield have gone four games unbeaten and are also unbeaten in their last four away games. Assistant Manager Adam Murray will be keen to do well on his return to the U's, as will John Dempster. Mansfield have former U's trialist Ryan Tafazoli in their defence and will be looking to build on a 2-1 win over Southend last time out
