United in Business Focus on APHIS Training and Services

United in Business Focus

As part of Oxford United’s new business club, United in Business, each member will have the opportunity to showcase their businesses.  This week’s focus takes a look at a company that has a high involvement with the club - APHIS Training & Services.

Two months after the launch, United in Business now sits at 45 members consisting of small and large local Oxfordshire businesses. United in Business was put together by a group of local businessmen who shared a passion for business and Oxford United. It was apparent Oxford United were lacking an environment where local businesses could come together and do business together, as well as putting something back into the club and community.

The business club has run three unique events including the fixtures breakfast, a forum dedicated to its members, and the launch of the 2014/15 kit. The kit launch saw a number of United in Business members ‘sign up’ and one of those members was Kris Kaveney- Managing Director for APHIS. Kris has worked with the club for a number of years and has long wanted an involvement with the club from a business perspective.” I have worked with the club for a number of years and this for me, ticks a number of boxes including meeting new businesses and community involvement” he said.

APHIS Training & Services offer a wide range of comprehensive and fully certified training courses in a number of areas including Health & Safety, First Aid & Security for both Individuals and Businesses.  Individuals can attend at their training centres, which are based predominantly in Oxford but also offer courses at other training sites all over the UK.  Businesses can choose to either send their employees to one of their venues or can schedule for one of our trainers to deliver courses on their own site.

Aphis Training & Services also offer consultation to all types of businesses in relation to Health & Safety and Security.  Additional Services such as PAT Testing, and tailored workshops are available to companies to assist in the development of employees in different aspects of their business.

Their mission is to offer recognised training courses to the highest standard, to all types of industries including Retail, Hospitality and Leisure industries, which includes Oxford United. The company boasts 20 years of experience and directors have all worked in a number of industries within the public and private sectors. Managing Director Kris Kaveney is extremely passionate about developing people and puts a great deal of his experience into the training that APHIS gives. Kris stated

“We make our courses as fresh and fun as possible, we incorporate all of our experience in each person’s training so our clients finish the course with as much information as possible to be able to fulfil their roles to a high standard”. APHIS offer a number of training courses including First Aid at Work, Fire safety courses, Door Supervision certificates and Personal Licence courses.  These are offered to businesses of all sizes as well as individuals.

As well as offering the security training to Oxford United staff, APHIS has also delivered training to a number of staff at festivals such as Glastonbury as well as a variety of hotel and restaurant chains. Safety Officer at the Kassam Stadium Neil Holdstock has praised APHIS on their work and believes Oxford United and APHIS have a great partnership. Neil stated

"Oxford United have worked with Aphis since the beginning of the current season and I am exceptionally impressed with the quality and delivery of their training courses.  The courses are delivered on time and on budget, but most importantly in a manner that makes all our participants feel at ease.  I would not hesitate to recommend them if you're looking for a vibrant, enigmatic training provider.”
