TEAM NEWS
Oxford United will have a new look as they take on Burton Albion. George Long, Joe Riley, Jon Meades, Michael Collins, Danny Hylton, Junior Brown and Carlton Morris all stand by for their United debuts, with Meades looking to end a nightmare year of injuries and join the six new signings in the starting eleven.
Jake Wright and Johnny Mullins are doubts while Ryan Clarke and Andy Whing will miss the first couple of months of the season as they recover from operations. Both are working hard in the gym and making excellent progress.
Alfie Potter has a habit of scoring great goals against Burton and will be hoping to do so again as Michael Appleton takes charge of the U’s for the first time.
See a full interview with Michael in Yellow Player right now where you can also see a great Preview Show packed full with features and interviews. You can also hear the whole game LIVE...

THE OPPOSITION
United couldn’t ask for a much tougher opening test than against a Brewers side who only missed out on promotion in the play-off final where they lost out to Fleetwood Town. Gary Rowett’s side missed out in the play-offs the year before as well and the Brewers boss is fully expecting them to go close again this year:

"My aim and my ambition for the team – and the team's ambition – is certainly to win promotion" he said. "The last two seasons we fell short of our ambition but got in the play-offs, which was fantastic."

Rowett has strengthened the squad and striker Stuart Beavon will be keen to impress if he recovers on time from a thigh strain. The former Didcot Town forward had an extended trial at the U’s while still playing for Didcot and his grandfather Cyril made close to 500 appearances for United during the sixties.
