We open the season with a two-page special from the chairman
You can buy Oxford United's first matchday magazine of the season on Saturday as United take on Burton Albion (3pm).Last season we won the League 2 Programme of the Year award and we're confident that this season's offering is even better. Judge for yourself by buying a copy for just £3 from sellers around the ground (with a copy of the Oxford Mail while stocks last).
We start the season with chairman Darryl Eales' first notes, a double-page special outlining his vision for Oxford United FC. The magazine is worth buying for that alone.
Inside we have retained many of your favourite articles, although with a fresh new look throughout, while adding some exciting new features. Our Special Moments page starts with a look back at United's 3-1 win over Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup fifth round in 1964, and we have another photographic feature looking back to the exciting Second Division title-winning season, which we will follow week by week. Another new series looks at United players from around the world, starting with France. Can you think of the seven French-born players to have played for United?
As well as an extensive look at Saturday's opposition, Burton Albion, head coach Michael Appleton and skipper Jake Wright have their say and we look at United's new signings for the new season, one of whom, Danny Hylton, is the subject of our first full-length interview. In addition we have a brief chat with the on-fire striker James Roberts while Carlton Morris takes us through his first, his last and his always.
There's loads more in our 84-page matchday magazine, including of course the opportunity to build up the spine image throughout the season. There's no need to miss out if you can't come to the game: you can download each edition from www.matchdayfix.com/oufc or even subscribe for the season.
