U's get ready to face The Brewers

Saturday’s opening Sky Bet League 2 game against Burton Albion promises to be a fantastic opening to the season.

Michael Appleton takes charge of the U’s for the first time in a competitive match and will face a Burton side who reached the play-offs last time around.  The Football League are asking fans to turn every opening game into a Wall of Colour so grab those yellow shirts and scarves and get behind the U’s.

If you are attending then come early. Chairman Darryl Eales and Chief Executive Mark Ashton will be in the newly names Manor Bar at 1.30pm to meet fans and answer any questions you may have.

With a large crowd anticipated we urge fans to leave a little extra time for their journey as there are ongoing roadworks around the Hinksey Hill and Kennington Roundabouts with a single file contraflow in operation to the Heyford Hill (Sainsbury’s) roundabout. If you are coming from that direction then leave an extra 15 minutes for your journey.

The Football Special Buses are back in place and offer quick and cheap transport to and from the game.

The OX3 and OX7 buses run from Carterton/Witney/Eynsham and Kidlington/Summertown/Headington/The Slade (click here for full details) while the Oxford Bus Company Route 5 runs to near the stadium and the Thames Travel T2/T3 buses also run to the Science Park from Abingdon.

It is going to be a fantastic way to start the new season. Call 01865 337533 or visit www.oufctickets.co.uk to join us for Oxford United v Burton Albion
