Keeper's fantastic season recognised with two awards
Ryan Clarke was a double winner this afternoon as he was presented with two awards.
United’s Number One was the runaway winner of the Andrew Knapton Supporters Player of the Year award. Andrew was the ‘Voice of the London Road’ at the Manor but sadly passed away before United kicked off at the Kassam Stadium. His family and friends bought the magnificent trophy that bears his name and his sister Gill was here to hand the trophy to Ryan before kick-off against Accrington.
Ryan was the landslide winner of the Fans Award with 70% of the vote. He was also voted the Players’ Player of the Year to make it a double celebration.
Midfielder Josh Ruffels was voted the Young Player of the Year after establishing himself in the first team this season with a string of very assured displays..
Fellow midfielder Josh Ashby was presented with the Youth Team Player of the Year after a series of impressive performances in the youth team which have led to his signing his first professional contract.
The players will formally receive their trophies at the End of Season Dinner which takes place at the Kassam Stadium on Sunday 4th May and will also feature Goal of the Season, Golden Boot and some very special awards. Tickets are still available for this great evening.
