Newey returns but Alfie is ruled out as Oxford United Welcome Fleetwood Town

Oxford United will welcome left back Tom Newey back into the squad this Saturday as they take on Fleetwood Town at the Kassam Stadium, but will be without the services of winger Alfie Potter.

Newey returns to the squad after serving a three game suspension following his red card at Chesterfield but Potter is likely to be out for two weeks with a groin strain. Manager Gary Waddock told us:

“Tom is a very experienced player and it is good to have him back in the squad. Alfie was very unfortunate. It was literally the last kick of the warm up at Dagenham on Saturday so we had to change the team at the last moment. Hopefully it is just a game or two on the sidelines for him but we will monitor that closely and make sure he is right for the important games coming up.”

For Military Day this Saturday Oxford United are encouraging families to fill the South Stand Lower and enjoy a great day with a ‘£10 for one adult, one child’ ticket offer.  There is also a 'Buy One Get One Free' offer for Adult tickets in the East Stand for this game

Show your support, get behind the team, enjoy Military Day and make as much noise as possible to roar The U's on.
