Oxford United legend Trevor Hebberd is guest of honour on Saturday
We welcome a very special person as guest of honour against Fleetwood Town this weekend as Manor legend Trevor Hebberd comes to the Kassam Stadium.Hebberd wrote himself into the United record books with a scintillating midfield display in the 1986 Milk Cup final, where he scored the first goal, made the second for Ray Houghton, and was involved in the build-up to the third, which was tucked away by Jeremy Charles. This performance not only sealed United's only major trophy, but also earned Hebberd a well-deserved Man of the Match award.
Hebberd wasn't just a one-game wonder, though. His performances in the centre of the park were instrumental in United's promotion to the top flight in 1985 and in keeping the U's in the first division for three seasons. In total, Hebberd scored 43 goals in 326 games for the U's and he is a worthy member of the United Hall of Fame.
Come along on Saturday to hear Trevor speak in the 12th Man Bar at 1.30pm, after which he will visit the lounges. He will also draw the winning 50/50 ticket at half time. You can also read a fascinating interview with this true all-time great in Saturday's matchday magazine, which you can buy at the game for just £3 or download from www.matchdayfix.com/oufc from 1pm on Saturday.
