Players and fans together as United prepare for Exeter home test
United fans get the chance to show their fantastic support once again as the U's welcome Exeter City to the Kassam Stadium on Tuesday night.
The travelling Yellow Army will be on the road again tomorrow to back the side at Accrington Stanley, then back at home to roar the team on against the Grecians.
“The fans were brilliant in the last home game” striker James Constable said. “They have always got behind us when we needed it and they make such a difference. We know it is down to us to give them something to cheer about but you could really feel them willing us forward and that encouragement and support really gives you a boost.”
United We Stand has been the message all season and the fans and team certainly played their part together at the Northampton game. Joe Nicholls of the Yellow Army fans group said:
“The last two home games have produced fantastic atmospheres, which showed what we can do at our home matches. The noise against Northampton really helped the team, with two quick goals coming after a really big effort from the fans.
“It shows what impact we as fans can have, and the players appreciate it, and it does make a real difference. The way each stand joined together to make noise, clap along, and really get behind the team showed why the Yellow Army are fans to be proud of. Accrington away is next, then we will do it all again under the lights against Exeter.”
Skipper Jake Wright echoed both James and Joe’s comments:
“We are in a great position after 11 games. Everyone is playing their part and Tuesday night is another chance to all be positive, all contribute and make it another game to remember. The fans here are different class and there is always a good atmosphere for night games so it’s a game we are really looking forward to.”
