Fleetwood Preview

29 November 2013

All you need to know as table-topping United travel to Fleetwood

We look ahead to United’s important trip to Fleetwood.

Team News

There are no fresh injury concerns for the U’s ahead of tomorrow’s clash with promotion rivals Fleetwood Town. However, it is a young United squad which travels to Highbury with injuries to captain Jake Wright, Jon Meades, Alfie Potter, Sean Rigg and Andy Whing, who will be out until February with a groin tear which requires an operation.

That has provided United’s younger players with a chance to shine and Tyrone Marsh, Callum O’Dowda, Josh Ruffels, Sam Long, David Lynn, Matt Bevans and Max Crocombe are all involned tomorrow

You can see full interviews with assistant manager Mickey Lewis, Josh Ruffels, Sam Long and Michael Raynes, plus a fantastic promotional film you will not want to miss all in the Preview Show. Sign up to Yellow Player now to see it all.

The Opposition

Fleetwood have been inconsistent in recent weeks, surprise defeats to Northampton and Accrington sandwiching a remarkable 5-4 victory over Mansfield. Manager Graham Alexander admitted his frustration with his side’s form, telling fleetwoodtownfc.com:

“It just takes someone to grasp that chance and I think if we’d picked up a couple of draws instead of getting beat then we’d be up there, and that’s what we have to try and rectify. As a team who can win games we’ve done well on that front as I don’t think anyone’s won as many games as us or scored more goals than us, but we just have to make sure we’ve got that toughness throughout our team and not get beat when we don’t play well.”
