Rigg out for two weeks as United welcome Newport
United will be without winger Sean Rigg for the next two to three weeks after he tweaked a hamstring against Morecambe on Saturday.
Rigg scored his second goal in two games and looked in fine form but will miss the trips to Fleetwood and Gateshead as well as tomorrow night’s home game against Newport County.
“It’s a blow because he was in good form” manager Chris Wilder told Yellow Player today. “Both of our wingers played well at the weekend so to lose Sean for a couple of weeks is bad news. Hopefully he will be back around the same time as Jake Wright and Deane Smalley but in their absence we have a number of young players who will step up to the plate I am sure.”
With United top of the table the Newport game is another big game for the U’s.
