United at the heart of the Oxford's Christmas
Oxford United were delighted to take part in Oxford’s Christmas Light Festival as Christmas came to Oxford yesterday.
The three days event came to a close on Sunday afternoon with The U’s providing the perfect finale as the youth team, women’s side and first teamers Johnny Mullins, Sam Long and Scott Davies ran through a rousing rendition of ‘We Wish you a Merry Christmas’. The choir had been coached by Darren Lord who said:
“They did really well. To stand up and sing in front of a crowd can be pretty daunting but I think they enjoyed it and they were great to work with.”
Mullins, who skippered United to a 3-0 win over Morecambe at the weekend said:
“It was pretty nerve-wracking up on stage. The youth team had put a lot of work into rehearsing and carried us through but it was nice to be involved with the city of Oxford and to be part of what was a really great event.”
