Places still available at the Oxvox Tournament
The OxVox 6-a-side tournament this summer will see fans able to take on teams from both the Oxford United Legends and the Board.
The tournament aims to raise funds for us to invest in Oxford United and the OUFC Youth and Community Trust and takes place on Sunday 30 June on the astro pitch at the Oxford Academy in Littlemore.
The Oxford United Legends team will be defending the trophy they won at the last OxVox 6-a-side in 2010, but will face tough opposition from the Board team which will feature Directors Simon and Adrian Lenagan. Adrian told us:
a name of (Very) Old Woodstock might be more appropriate...th“I can’t wait to get out there. Simon and I obviously played for many years locally, mainly for Old Woodstock, although as the intervening years have seen the inevitable increase in weight and decrease in agility I think on the 30
"Hopefully though there’ll still be the opportunity to put a few past some fans and perhaps even the odd legend. I’d really encourage anyone if they haven’t yet got a team together to do so; it should be a fantastic day and it’s obviously a great way to help raise money for the club.”
There’s space for 24 teams in this tournament, which means every team is guaranteed to play at least FIVE 14-minute matches. The cost to enter is £75 per team and can contain a maximum of ten players. All the profits will be reinvested in sponsoring either Oxford United or the Oxford United Youth and Community Trust.
Spaces are still available but filling up fast. To enter a team please email firstname.lastname@example.org
