United's line-up v Birmingham City
United's first home game of the pre-season sees them take on Championship side Birmingham City this afternoon (3.00pm kick-off). Supporters will have their first glimpse of United's new home kit, complete with new sponsors Animalates, and it will also be the first opportunity to see Oxford's new signings at home. There are three new boys in the starting line-up, with Tom Newey in the left-back position, Matt Bevans at right-back, and the returning Danny Rose in midfield. Goalkeeper Ryan Clarke makes his first home appearance since his double shoulder operation at the end of last season, with Michael Raynes and captain Jake Wright completing the defence. Scott Davies and Sean Rigg will play on the flanks, with Andy Whing partnering Rose in the centre of the midfield. Up front James Constable and Deane Smalley will comprise the forward partnership.
This means that new signings David Kitson, Jonathan Meades and the familiar face of Asa Hall will start on the bench, although David Hunt misses out as a precaution following an infected knee. Alfie Potter is also among the substitutes, alongside Max Crocombe, Tyrone Marsh and Callum O'Dowda.
