Katie Stanley and Luke Taylor pick up gold medals in Russia
Oxford United boast two Gold Medal winners following Great Britain's success in the 2013 World University Games in Kazan, Russia.Katie was a member of the squad that won the women's football tournament, beating Ireland and Brazil on their way to the final, in which four goals in the last 10 minutes earned GB a 6-2 win over Mexico.
Luke was on the coaching staff for the team and both were very proud to bring home gold for GB.
Katie studied at Bridgetown University in the US last year to be eligible for the games and was delighted to be part of the winning team. "I can't believe I'm coming home with a gold medal," she said after the game.
