Keeper to link up with New Zealand Under 20 squad
United’s young goalkeeper Max Crocombe has been called into the New Zealand Under 20 World Cup qualifying squad.
Max has been selected as a member of the Extended Squad for the OFC Qualifying Tournament for the FIFA Men's U20 World Cup which will be held in Fiji in March. This tournament is the final stage of OFC qualification with the winner progressing to the FIFA U20 World Cup to be held in Turkey from June 21 - July 13, 2013.
An extended squad of 26 players has been named, which will become a final squad of 20 who will travel to Fiji.
Max told us:
“I am really pleased and proud to get the call up. There is a lot of work still to do before the final 20 is announced but it is exciting news and something I am really looking forward to.”
