Chris Wilder on Plymouth

United got back to winning ways on Saturday with a 1-0 win at Plymouth, courtesy of a James Constable strike. United’s talisman slotted home the 91st goal of his United career to move ahead of Peter Foley and John Aldridge in the all-time scorers list and leave manager Chris Wilder delighted with his side.

“It was a little uncomfortable because I thought we should have won the game easier than we did” Chris told Yellow Player. “We played as well as we have been doing in recent games but got the result this time. We analyse things and we had more crosses and shots in the last three or four games than we did in the four games before, where we won four on the bounce. But we got the goal and should have had a few more.

“We were bold, we had four attacking players at the top of the park and we got our reward. We got our shots off, which we have been asking them to do, we played some decent stuff and we deserved the win. It has been a testing period but it’s how you get on with it”.

“We came out fighting and showed what we are about. We defended when we had to, played when we had to, and were the better side. Plymouth were on a decent run but we quietened the crowd and looked a half decent side today.”
